GROUP TOUR OFFERINGS
The Martin House Tour will introduce visitors to Frank Lloyd Wright’s innovative design concepts that defined his Prairie-style ideal. A certified docent will lead guests through the primary first floor rooms of the Martin House, pergola, conservatory, and carriage house.
Experience the harmony of Wright’s nature-inspired architecture, the connections made between interior and exterior spaces, and the pioneering methods of construction used in this outstanding residential estate. Explore the home’s beauty, described as a “domestic symphony,” which includes prime examples of Wright-designed furniture, art glass, and light fixtures. Your tour will conclude at the Martin House Museum Store, where you will find an exceptional selection of gifts for you and your home.
This tour is one hour and is not wheelchair accessible. There is stair climbing, considerable walking, and standing involved. Part of the tour is outside.
The Martin House + Tour will take you to all the spaces included on the Martin House Tour plus the second floor of the Martin House; the first and second floor of the Barton House (1903), the first Prairie house built on the site; and the first floor of the Gardener's Cottage (1909) where you will see Wright's concept for affordable housing beautifully executed.
Along the way, your docent will expand on the Martin/Wright story to provide a more detailed context for this architectural masterpiece.

This package includes a tour at the Martin House and the Graycliff Estate, the Martins’ summer home also designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The Graycliff Estate is located approximately 35 minutes (21.1 miles) south of the Martin House. You can tour both of these historic homes in one day, or split it up over several days.
This specialty group tour will take you through all the buildings included in the Martin House Plus tour, plus the verandah and ballroom of the Martin House.
Throughout the tour, you will hear the story of the 25-year, multiple phased restoration project. From the challenges encountered in locating long lost artifacts to the decisions made in bringing Wright's "opus" back to its original grandeur, your group will be simply amazed.
Enjoy a delicious light fare spread prepared by Current Catering, assorted wines, and conversation among friends in the historic Barton House, Gardener's Cottage or lower level of the Martin House.
Following the reception, guests will be treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the Martin House. A fun and inspired night out for all, this tour is offered to groups in the evenings.
Group Tour Payment & Policies
Final count and payment are due two weeks prior to your scheduled tour. If you need to change or cancel your tour for any reason, please contact us as soon as possible. No refunds will be given after your final count and final payment are provided, unless the tour is cancelled by the Martin House.
Arrival Information
Tours begin at the Eleanor and Wilson Greatbatch Pavilion (the all-glass building adjacent to the Martin House on Jewett Parkway). We ask that group tours arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled tour time. If arriving by bus, parking and arrival directions will be sent after your reservation is complete. Upon arrival at the Pavilion, groups will have the opportunity to view the current exhibits and interactive features of the visitor center, take exterior photos, and use the public restrooms.
Parking
The Martin House is located in a residential neighborhood. Free street parking is available for small vans and cars in the neighborhood. Large buses and motorcoaches have a nearby designated off-site parking area. Directions to this area will be supplied to the group leader and detailed in your group confirmation information. Please arrange for the bus driver to pick guests up after the tour at the Greatbatch Pavilion.
