Enjoy a unique opportunity to explore the Martin House during a self-guided tour on Thursdays through Sunday, 11am - 3pm. 

Wander Frank Lloyd Wright’s opus to the beat of your own drummer. Discover the harmonious design and details that make up the first floor of the Martin House, pergola, conservatory, and carriage house. The tour is not wheelchair accessible.

Advance ticket purchase is required. Following NYS mandated safety guidelines, visitors will be required to wear face coverings, and we will limit the number of visitors inside the house at one time. Please review all of our safety guidelines here before arriving on site.

The Martin House Museum Store (located in the carriage house) will also be open for shopping.

$10 per person, free for members.

Self-Guided Wright Night

From 4-7pm, wander Frank Lloyd Wright’s opus to the beat of your own drummer. Discover the harmonious design and details that make up the first floor of the Martin House, pergola, conservatory, and carriage house. The tour is not wheelchair accessible.

Advance ticket purchase is required. Following NYS mandated safety guidelines, visitors will be required to wear face coverings, and we will limit the number of visitors inside the house at one time. Please review all of our safety guidelines here before arriving on site.

Private One-Hour Tour

Online reservations for private tours are not available at this time. Please email info@martinhouse.org to make your request. Currently, private tours are available Thursday through Sunday at 10am. 48-hour advance notice is required. 

The Private One-Hour Tour will introduce visitors to Frank Lloyd Wright’s innovative design concepts that defined his Prairie-style ideal.  A certified docent will lead guests through the primary first-floor rooms of the main Martin House, the pergola, conservatory, and the carriage house.  Experience the harmony of Wright’s nature-inspired architecture, the connections made between interior and exterior spaces, and the pioneering methods of construction used in this outstanding residential project.  Explore the home’s beauty, described as a “domestic symphony,” which includes prime examples of Wright-designed furniture, art glass, and light fixtures.  Your tour will conclude at the Martin House Museum Store, where you will find an exceptional selection of gifts for you and your home. 

This tour is one hour and is not wheelchair accessible. There is stair-climbing, considerable walking, and standing involved on this tour. Part of the tour is outside.  From time to time a specific tour space in the Martin House may be unavailable. An alternate space will be made available.

We are now offering private tours at 10am Thursday through Sunday for up to 4 people from the same household or social circle. The cost is $100. Additional guests from the same household or social circle can be added for $25, up to 8 total guests. Member benefits are available. Email info@martinhouse.org to make your request.

Private Two-Hour Tour

The Private Two-Hour Tour will take you to all the spaces included on the Martin House Tour, plus the second floor Master Bedroom. The tour will also visit the first floor of the Gardener's Cottage (1909) where you will see Wright's concept for affordable housing beautifully executed and the first and veranda of the Barton House (1903) which was the first Prairie house built on the site. Along the way your docent will expand on the Martin/Wright story to provide a more detailed context for this architectural masterpiece.

This tour is two hours and is not wheelchair accessible: there is considerable walking, standing and stair-climbing involved. Part of the tour is outside. From time to a time a specific tour space in the Martin House may be unavailable due to ongoing restoration. An alternate space will be made available.

Two hour tours are not intended for children under the age of 5.

We are now offering private tours at 10am Thursday through Sunday for up to 4 people of the same household or social circle. The cost is $200. Additional guests from the same household or social circle can be added for $50, up to 8 total guests. Member benefits are available. Email info@martinhouse.org to make your request.

Private Landscape Tour

Learn how the intricate gardens and multiple structures of the Martin House were a reflection of Wright's approach to integrated design during the Private Landscape Tour. Guests will explore the recently-restored, Wright-designed historic landscape that spans the 1.5 acre estate in addition to the Gardener's Cottage, Conservatory, and first floor of the Carriage House. This tour does not enter the main Martin House.

This docent-led tour experience will inspire visitors with an understanding of how the unique landscape, one of the finest examples of Wright's desire to integrate nature and design, was also a testament to Darwin and Isabelle Martin's love of gardening. 

Please note that this 90-minute tour is primarily outside, so be sure to plan ahead for the weather. This tour will take place rain or shine.

Private Twilight Tour
Private Twilight Tour

Online reservations for private twilight tours are not available at this time. Please email info@martinhouse.org to make your request. Currently, this tour is offered on select Thursday evenings. 48-hour advance notice is required. 

When the sun goes down, and the lights come up in the pergola, tours at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Martin House take on a whole new sense of drama. The estate is breathtaking at twilight, especially the cast of the Nike of Samothrace located inside the conservatory – bathed in a unique, ambient glow.

Guests will visit the primary first-floor rooms of the main Martin House, the Martin House verandah, pergola, conservatory, and carriage house. 

The 90-minute, docent-led tour begins at the Barton House. This tour is not wheelchair accessible.

We are now offering the private twilight tour at 7 and 7:30 pm on select Thursdays for up to 4 people from the same household or social circle. The cost is $120. Additional guests from the same household or social circle can be added for $30, up to 8 total guests. Member benefits are available. Email info@martinhouse.org to make your request.
