Travel by Design: St. Louis & Beyond - SOLD OUT

Martin House Event
Friday, May 1 - Monday, May 4   |     |   St. Louis

The trip is now SOLD OUT.

Thank you for your interest, and watch for an announcement about our fall trip!

Join us for an unforgettable travel experience exploring the rich art and architectural legacy of St. Louis, Missouri, and beyond.

Our excursion will begin at our lodging headquarters—the historic Hotel St. Louis, designed by famed architect Louis Sullivan and constructed in 1893 as the St. Louis Union Trust Company. From there, we will expand our knowledge of the city with a downtown architectural walking tour, followed by a visit to Eero Saarinen’s iconic Gateway Arch, an engineering marvel located on the banks of the Mississippi River. The day’s activities will come to a close with an entertaining evening of barbeque and music at the National Blues Museum.

Our adventures will continue on day two with a daytrip to Frank Lloyd Wright’s extraordinary Dana-Thomas House in Springfield, Illinois, as well as two private Prairie School residences at Milliken Place in Decatur, Illinois. Back in St. Louis, day three will be filled with discovery at Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site, the Frank Lloyd Wright House in Ebsworth Park, Forest Park, and the St. Louis Art Museum.

Our final day together will begin with a thought-provoking guided bus tour of the now demolished Pruitt-Igoe public housing complex designed by architect Minori Yamasaki, and conclude at the Missouri Botanical Garden, the nation’s oldest botanical garden in continuous operation and a National Historic Landmark.
